July 11, 2011
New Prague, MN

The weather was hot and so were the High Flying dogs at the Redwood County Fair in Redwood Falls, MN. This National DockDogs competition attracted competitors from as far away as Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota for a chance to earn National Points and a possible chance to compete at the 2011 DockDogs World Championships.

Team STIHL‘s Tom Dropik and his Super Athlete Remi have already earned and invite to the 2011 DockDogs World Championships in Extreme Vertical, but needed this event to complete the 3rd of 3 national event requirements needed. "Remi has been coming along very nicely in his Dock Jumping ventures" says Tom. "I was very excited to continue our efforts to see just what this Super Athlete is capable of.".

We started out with the Traditional event of Big Air, a discipline that Remi has yet to leave a mark in. With the bleachers full of excited spectators Team STIHL‘s Tom Dropik and Remi did just that. They set their personal mark and turn out 2 HUGE jumps of 22'6" and 23'8". Remi also went on to jump a HUGE personal best 24'2" jump to earn him 5th place Overall in the Big Air Pro Division. They definitely set their mark in Big Air.

Saturday evening was Remi's signature event Extreme Vertical. This crowd favorite discipline brought out HUGE Crowds and the High Flying dogs did not let them down. Remi went head to head with some of the biggest jumping dogs in the world. And with huge 7'2" snatch, Team STIHL‘s Tom Dropik and Remi win Gold.

Team STIHL‘s Tom Dropik and Remi competed in Speed Retrieve through out the weekend. Remi set his new personal best of 5.735 seconds which qualified him for the Speed Retrieve finals. The Speed Retrieve Finals were Sunday afternoon in temperatures well in to the 90's. Remi would not let down the spectators and took home the Gold in Speed Retrieve.

Team STIHL‘s Tom Dropik and Remi also signed up for their very fist IRON DOG competion which allows them to earn points in each discipline. Remi earned a world class score in IRON DOG of 3059.19 which earned him the Gold.

1st place Extreme Vertical, 1 place Speed Retrieve, 5th place Big Air, and a 1st place IRON DOG. Not a bad weekend for Team STIHL‘s Tom Dropik and Remi.

“Remi is young and has a very exciting career ahead of him”.  says Tom

Team STIHL‘s next stop will be the 2011 Slice of Shoreview in Shoreview, MN July 22 - 24, 2011.

“Thanks again for all your support STIHL”, “We couldn’t do it with out you” says Tom.
